Sustainable Development ReportsJSC "First Power Generating Company on the Wholesale Energy Market" (OGK-1) aims at being a socially responsible company observing the principles of partnership cooperation with key clients, abiding by international standards of sustainable development which is understood by us as a balance between economic growth and favorable effect on the social sphere and environment.
The Company follows the principles of the Global Treaty on Human Rights (Principles 1 and 2), the right for conclusion of the trade union contracts and inadmissibility of any discrimination in employment (Principles 3 and 6), prevention of negative effect on the environment (Principles 7-9) as well as prevention of any form of corruption (Principle 10).
OGK-1 shares the ideology of the Russian Business Social Charter and believes that:
- entrepreneurial freedom is the basis of profitable and sustainable corporate development;
- free economic competition is a key factor in increasing country’s wealth;
- cooperation with suppliers of goods and services should be based on mutual benefit, transparency and full responsibility for fulfillment of obligations;
- relations with personnel – the Company’s major asset – should be based on the principles of partnership, common objectives, mutual respect, honesty and realizable mutual obligations;
- responsible observation of legal environmental norms serves to preserve the environment.
Developing these principles and following the policy of openness and transparency in information provision on its activities the Company made a decision to provide a social responsibility report.
The third report (2007)

“Sustainable Development Report 2007” became the second report prepared in accordance with the “Guide to Reports on Sustainable Development” of the Global Reporting Initiative, (GRI), version 3. The document covered the period from January 1 to December 31, 2007. The report is aimed at covering all aspects of the Company’s activities for the year of 2007.
The second report (2006)

Sustainable Development Report 2006 (Russian version)
“Sustainable Development Report 2006” became the first report made under “The Guide to Reports on Sustainable Development” of the Global Reporting Initiative, (GRI), version 3. The document covered the period from 1 January to 31 December 2006.
The report conformed to level C+ of the Global Reporting Initiative, (GRI).
The electronic copy of the report was published on the corporate website (http://www.ogk1.com/docs/soc_otchet_06.pdf), the report was also presented in hard copy to the participants of the hearings held in Moscow in June 2007 and to the interested parties which were selected as a target audience. The document was sent to all the Company’s branches.
The Public Hearings were held for the second report and attended by representatives of oversight bodies, public unions and associations, the investment community, customers, journalists. The participants shared their opinion on the Company’s activities reflected in the Report. It was noted that OGK-1 demonstrated a modern approach to the dialogue with the interested parties. The report received a positive assessment for its format and a broad information on the Company’s activities in 2006. The participants were hopeful that OGK-1 would continue the policy of a socially responsible business.
OGK-1 Sustainable Development Report 2006 was registered in the National register of corporate non-financial reports which is annually compiled by the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
The first report (2005)

Sustainable Development Report 2005
First Sustainable Development Report of (2005) was published in September 2006 in Russian.
The Company was awarded “Responsibility and Confidence” nomination in a contest “Social Enegry” annually held by RAO UES for this report. In February 2007 OGK-1 Social Report for the year of 2005 was registered in the National register of corporate non-financial reports which is compiled and administered by the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
