OGK-1 being the largest city-forming enterprise in the cities of Company power plants, is aware of its social responsibility for the local community in solving major social issues in the regions where the Company’s business is present.

On March 20 OGK-1 Board of Directors adopted the “Program on Sponsorship and Charity 2008” (Russian version). The Company identified major directions for sponsorship and charity, which are unified for all Company’s power plants.

The sponsorship and charity priorities of OGK-1 are the following: support of children and young people, social support for the poor and needed, veterans and disabled people. The support will be provided in the regions where the Company’s power plants, are located. The support will be targeted and specific.

In 2008 OGK-1 will implement projects aiming at development of pre-school and school education, development of children’s sports, arts, culture, psychological adaptation, social rehabilitation of disabled children and orphans. Company’s activities will be directed at creating conditions for harmonic development of children and the youth. Under OGK-1 program “Growing Talents” schools will receive financial support for pupils’ specialization, supply of manuals, computer software. Talented pupils will be awarded with annual grants. Art studios and schools will receive funding for the development and advertising of children arts: purchase of music instruments and theatre paraphernalia, organization of exhibitions, contests, publishing art works.

Support will be provided to children sports teams of the sports and culture centers and to clubs in the matter of purchasing sports equipment, organizing sports competitions. Iriklinskaya GRES will organize children sports competitions aiming at popularization and propaganda of the healthy way of life.

Special focus will be on orphans and disabled children. OGK-1 Program “Window into a Big World” envisages projects on socialization of disabled children, provision of infrastructure for vocational schools where the majority of students are disabled children. Children will visit theatres, sports events. They will receive games and training software, books, developing games. The Program includes Christmas presents and Christmas parties.

To strengthen the institution of the family, for harmonic development and education of children, attracting attention to talented children, in 2008 Urengoyskaya GRES plans a festival of children arts where children will participate alongside with their parents. The festival program will be very broad covering literature contests, essay contest, arts contest. But the most important will be competiotions, aimed at developing family arts, these are “My Genealogy” and “ My Family Coat of Arms”.

In charity the priority will also be given to social support of the poor and needed, veterans and the disabled. Under OGK-1 Program “Energy of Kindness” financial support will be provided to local Veterans’ Council, Social Support Centers, Disabled Societies, Disabled Hospitals, Blind People Society, war and power producing industry veterans.
