Heat is mostly supplied to the residential housing of the nearby cities and villages which are located next to the power plants. The amount of heat supplied depends directly on climate.

Heat production data is given for the OGK-1 group of companies. The group of companies comprise Permskaya GRES, Verkhnetagilskaya GRES, Kashirskaya GRES, Nizhnevartovskaya GRES, Urengoyskaya GRES, Iriklinskaya GRES. Two exiting power units of Nizhnevartovskaya GRES have been transferred to the authorized capital of ZAO Nizhnevartovskaya GRES. 100% shares of ZAO «Nizhnevartovskaya GRES» belong to NVGRES HOLDING LIMITED (NHL). 75% - 1 share of the NHL authorized capital belong to JSC «OGK-1», 25%+1 share belong to TNK-BP. On August 1, 2008 ZAO Nizhnevartovskaya GRES became an independent legal entity of the wholesale energy market.

Iriklinskaya GRES is one of the biggest power plants in the Southern Urals.

Irirklinskaya GRES is located in the eastern part of the Orenburg region in the centre of a highly developed economic region. Magnitogorsk is to the north from Orenburg, Orsk-Aktyubinsk industrial area – is to the south, a rich in resources Sokolovsk-Orbaysk iron field – to the east, Mednogorsk and Kuvandyk – to the west. The nearest big city of Orsk is in 100 km. Iriklinskaya GRES is a major company of the village of Energetik. The population of Energetik amounts to 9.5 thousand people.

Iriklinskaya GRES has its own hydro power station with the capacity of 30 MW. The Hydro power plant is located in 20 km from Iriklinskaya GRES.

Kashirskaya GRES is located in the city of Kashira-2 of the Moscow region, in 115 km from Moscow, on the bank of the Oka river. Kashira-2 is a city, built for the first employees which turned into a big city of the region. Kashirskaya GRES is the biggest company of the Kashira region.

Permskaya GRES is located in 70 km from Perm and in 5 km to the north-west from the city of Dobryanka, on the left bank of the Kama water reservoir between the industrial center of the Perm region (oil mining and oil refining, petrochemistry, machine construction and other energy consuming production) and the Verkhnya Kama industrial center (petrochemistry, chemistry, non-ferrous and ferrous metallurgy, lumbering and natural resources mining).

The installed capacity of the first line of power units of the GRES amounts to 2, 400 MW. Nowadays 3 steam power units with the installed capacity of 800 MW each are under exploitation at the power plant. They were constructed in the period between 1986 and 1990.

Urengoyskaya GRES (UGRES) is located on the bank of the lake Yamylimuyaganto in the river basin of the river Pur in 70 km to the south from the Polar circle, on the territory of the Limbyayakha region, which is a part of Noviy Urengoy. Noviy Urengoy is located in Yamalo-Nenetskiy Administrative District of the Tyumen region.

Urengoyskaya GRES installed capacity amounts to 24 MW.
